We sell a huge range of some of the most popular closers used by the trade, this includes the best selling Briton 2000 Series as well as the world's most specified door closer the Dorma TS73V. These technically superior closers are relatively easy to install and are suited to either medium or high traffic applications.
Door closers are designed for the purpose of closing fire doors once they have been opened to help limit the spread of fire throughout a building. Overhead door closers can usually be mounted in up to 3 different configurations:
EN Closing Force
Max Door Width
Max Door Weight
The door closer is fixed to the hinge side of the door (the side on which you can see the knuckle of the hinges). The door closer is attached to the door and the arm is attached to the frame above.
The door closer is fixed to the frame of the door and the arm attached to the door, this is fitted on the opposite side of the hinge, this is normally used for outward opening doors where the closer needs to be inside, for the reasons of weather Etc.
This fixing method is also known as parallel arm fixing and uses the parallel arm bracket that comes with all our door closers. Again fitted to the opposite side of the hinge, the closer is fitted underneath the door frame head and attached to the parallel arm bracket.
